Fandom Friday: iZombie

In case you have been living off grid and haven't heard of the awesome CW show, iZombie, it is a fun, quirky, campy show about zombies based on the comic book series of the same name.

We follow Liz (Rose McIver) a hot shot doctor turned zombie. She finds new purpose in working in the police morgue and helping Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin)solve murder cases. Bonus, she gets herself a fresh supply of brains. We follow the stories of Liz, her boss Ravi (Rahul Kohli), her ex boyfriend Major (Robert Buckley), and her best friend Peyton (Aly Michalka) as they navigate love, life, and zombies.

Reasons to love this show:

1. The Classic CW Eye Candy

As with all shows on the CW Network, all the main characters are drop dead (see what I did there) gorgeous. But even more so, they are loveable, personable, humorous, and someone you would either want as your best friend or your lover.

2. The Campy Humor

The show is not afraid to poke fun at itself, its subject matter, or its cast members. It not only does not shy away from the cheesy jokes, it embraces them and leaves you salivating for more.

3. Liv on Brains Minor Spoiler Alert--

Liv discovers that when she eats someone's brain, she takes on part of their personality for a short duration. Each week we get to watch Liv and her zombie friends delve into different characters and personalities as they eat various human brains. You will soon come to have your favorite "version" of Liv and the term "having zombie brain" will take on a whole new meaning.

4. The Amazing Storylines

From the surprising love triangles, to the crimes solved each week - we are given solid, thoughtful, fulfilling episodes. All encased with the flavor of humor that is unique to iZombie. Even the storylines involving zombie politics will keep you on the edge of your seat one moment, then laughing the next, with sentimental moments sprinkled in as well.

5. The Brain Recipes

Will someone make a cookbook already?! One of my favorite parts of each episode is when they show Liv cooking her brains. The various recipes we see her make each week would inspire even the best cook amongst us.

So take the weekend and catch up with a good binge on Netflix on the first three season. Then you will be all ready for season four that just started on the CW Network on Mondays at 9pm.
