Rack and Ruin Game Review

Rack and Ruin is a top down adventure and exploration game with a classic shooting style. You play as the little, but powerful, demon Rack and guide him through various demon worlds. Rack is mostly horns and sass and defies orders at every turn. But this might just be his last chance to bring forth chaos and hysteria, instead of his normal style of just plain planetary destruction.

Delicately hand drawn art work style give the game a memorable look and each new level brings on a unique set of side quests and bosses, which are challenging but fair.

The controls are easy to master and the visuals and path-ing are crisp and clean. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for the combat system of “hold trigger and shoot” to get stale and wandering the maps to feel repetitive. The overall visuals and artwork make the game memorable but the game play itself just doesn’t hold for very long. If you're really interested in adventure and big headed demons, it just might be another keeper for your Steam collection.
