Twelve years ago, I started watching Supernatural in college. The Winchester Brothers grew in the series as I grew in my life. I have grown with these characters and shared each funny moment, intense drama and action, and each sad tragedy. As the name of the show, the main theme is the supernatural. This includes all supernatural: witches, demons, gods, shape-shifters, angels, and everything else you can think of, and some you might not. This is one show where all the supernatural myths merge together. This is what gives the show such range and limitless directions to take the story-line. The story of two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester (played by Jared Padalecki and Jenson Ackles), who are forced into the hunter life due to an unforeseen family tragedy. All these brothers know is the life of hunting the supernatural and saving the world time and time again.
Dean is gritty, good old country boy with an attitude. But he has a vulnerability you can connect to. He has complete devotion to those he cares about and all with a smoking hot smile. Then there is the younger brother Sam. He is intelligent, analytical, tries to make the right decisions and protect the ones he loves, but keeps jumping off cliffs. The supporting characters that are pillars for the brothers have just as much character and charm. Bobby (Jim Beaver), a father figure, mentor, and the disciplinary of the group. His foul mouth and disdain for everything helps to liven the mood even in dark times. Castiel (Misha Collins), oh the blessed angel. At first, he is rigid and sticks to the rules, then transforms into his own identity away from being a Solider of heaven. Crowley (Mark Sheppard), a crossroads demon, who is an enemy one minute and next wants to be BFF’s.

The show is not all about action and cliffhangers. It also has elements of "bromance" that will wither any ladies heart. Yes, I am talking about the love triangle between the cocky loud mouth Dean, the straight-arrow intellectual Sam, and the forever brooding angel Castiel. In most TV series, movies, and books you have the stereotypical love triangle between two girls and a guy, or two guys and a girl. Supernatural kicks that cliché to hell and develops a true love bond between these three characters. That gender doesn't matter and love, loyalty, devotion comes in all forms.
