Zeus Vs Monsters Review
Do you like Greek mythology? Do you enjoy primitive graphics? Are you a kiddo with a hankering for crunching some numbers? Then Zeus vs Monsters, created by Peakseal, is the game for you!
Zeus vs Monsters is a very simply made math game. The graphics are rudimentary, and the mechanics of the game are super simple. You play as Zeus, and your avatar stands on the left side of the screen. Walking toward you from the opposite side are an array of different enemies from the Greek mythos. You must complete math problems to summon a bolt of lightning to smite your enemies before they reach you. I wasn’t thrilled with the visual design of the game, but it didn’t seem to bother my kids at all.
I think the thing I loved most about Zeus vs Monsters is its versatility in the level of math skill required. The game covers addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. You have several options to increase or decrease difficulty. You can choose the type of math problems presented and various skill levels of each type. This allows the game to played by a kindergartners all the way to a third grader.
This is a game that can grow with your child as they learn and develop math proficiency. There are many levels to play through, breaking the game up into small bites. This really helps with keeping the child’s focus. Each level has more enemies or faster moving enemies, and some levels have “bosses” that the child needs to hit with multiple bolts of lightning.
To help me write a really good review I consulted two experts in the demographic this game targets. The first, a 7-year-old girl, gave rave reviews. “I love it!” she said. She played for a solid 45 minutes before losing interest, focusing intensely on the math problems. The second reviewer, a 5-year-old girl, also absolutely loved it. When asked what she liked about the game, she replied, “That it’s about math, and I like Zeus.” High praise from a 5-year-old.
All in all, Zeus vs Monsters is a fun learning game and encourages the practice of math skills in an engaging manner. If you’re a mom like me, and want to encourage educational skills and a love of gaming, this is definitely a game I’d recommend.
