Game Review: Love Letter
In the wake of the queen’s arrest, all the eligible young men of Tempest (and many not so young) seek to woo Princess Annette. Unfortunately, she has locked herself in the palace, and everyone must rely on those within the palace to bring their romantic letters to her. Will yours reach her first?
Love Letter is a game of risk, deduction, and luck for 2–4 players. Your goal is to get your love letter into Princess Annette's hands while deflecting the letters from competing suitors.
You shuffle a sixteen card deck and place one card into the bag. On a turn, you draw one card, and play one card, trying to expose others and knock them from the game. The game ends when there is only one player left or the deck is empty. When the deck is empty, all players reveal their hand and the player with the highest value card wins the round and earns a token of affection (a red cube). The first to 7 tokens wins.
The gameplay is fairly quick (15 minutes) and it can be played with only two people. The game is also small and portable. The components fit in the red bag and can easily fit in a purse or pocket. Gameplay is simple and it's appropriate for players of all ages.
You can also get different versions, including this awesome Batman one!!!
